The people behind MHCG.
Our clinical focus is headache, migraine and concussion. Meet the practitioners who will assess you, explain what they find and help you work out what comes next.
Cliff Butler
Cliff has more than 20 years of clinical experience and leads MHCG's concussion work.
He has a particular interest in understanding why symptoms such as headache, dizziness, exercise intolerance, neck pain and cognitive difficulty may persist after concussion and how those findings can guide recovery.
His headache practice includes migraine, recurrent headache and assessment of the cervical spine using the Watson Headache Approach where the neck appears clinically relevant.
Outside the clinic, Cliff is heavily involved in community sport, concussion education and working with sporting organisations to improve the way head injuries are recognised and managed.

Pete Vlahos
Pete's interest in headache care is also personal. Having experienced migraine himself, he understands the impact it can have on work, family, exercise and everyday life.
He works with people experiencing migraine, menstrual migraine, cervicogenic headache, recurrent headache and other headache presentations.
Pete is trained in the Watson Headache Approach and uses cervical assessment where it appears relevant, without assuming that every migraine or headache is coming from the neck.
His approach starts by understanding the headache pattern and determining which factors appear important before deciding what treatment, rehabilitation or medical involvement may be appropriate.

More than 25 years of clinical experience, with strong roots in Melbourne's west.
MHCG has grown from more than two decades of clinical practice and long standing relationships across local sporting clubs, schools, GPs, specialists and community organisations.
That community focus continues to shape how we work today. We want patients, families, clubs and referring practitioners to have somewhere reliable to turn when headache, migraine or concussion becomes difficult to navigate.
Our work also extends beyond the clinic through concussion education, sporting partnerships and helping community organisations improve how head injuries are recognised and managed.
Can't get to Williamstown? We also provide virtual consultations.
Distance, work, school or travel doesn't always make an in person appointment easy.
MHCG offers virtual headache and concussion consultations so we can review your history, symptoms, progress and management plan by video.
Virtual doesn't mean guessing.
We'll be clear about what can be assessed remotely and when we think an in person examination, medical review or further investigation is more appropriate.
